MARGARET JENNIFER PARKER May 31, 1943 - August 22, 2007 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandma after a courageous battle with cancer. Jennifer was born in Tuffley, Gloucestershire, England to Roland (Hoot) and Phyllis Gibson. In 1964 she followed Robin to Winnipeg and they were married in May 1965. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robin, her children, Deborah Garrioch (Glen), Scott (Lily Eng), and grandchildren, Will and Kristine Garrioch. Also left to mourn are her brother Roland Gibson (Diana) and Robin's brothers, Don (Peggy) and Brian (Sylvia), along with many nieces and nephews. Jennifer was very active with her kids as they were growing up. After Deb became a Brownie, Jennifer became involved in the Girl Guides where she made many lifelong friends. Jennifer also enjoyed watching Scott play hockey, golf and other sports. Jennifer cherished being a grandma and always looked forward to spending time with Will and Kristine. They will miss her and always remember the time they spent together. In December 2006, Jennifer retired from Syntex where she had worked for the Martin family for 16 years. Her job and the people she worked with meant a great deal to her. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A warm thank-you to friends and family for their support and well wishes, especially over the last two months. The cards, flowers, phone calls, emails and visits from everyone brightened her days. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, the Grace Hospital, Homecare and the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or through www.cancercare.mb.ca.
